About the artwork
In the center of the picture is the white gate, which symbolizes the beginning of life. A long way into a restricted, visible reality begins behind the gate. The path with its seasonally changing trees is arranged as an avenue. The walk along this path becomes a symbol for walking through life. In the end, the end is heralded by the autumn trees and falling leaves. The path ends in the last gate. Nobody can guess what comes after, if anything comes after at all. The oil painting has a custom-made model frame and is titled, dated and signed on the back.
