About the artwork
In its treetop, a tree unites spring and autumn, blooming and withering, life and death, growth and decay in a beautiful landscape. The different times of day on both sides of the picture emphasize these contrasts, according to the Janus law. Two small birds sit at the foot of the tree, one on the light and one on the dark side of the picture. The painting has a custom-made model frame with a light passe-partout. The painting is signed and dated on the front and back.
