About the artwork
The still life with melon is a composition of a yellow honeydew melon with five ripe pears and seven cherries as well as eleven apricots and twelve nectarines. The fruit, which lies in front of a dark blue night sky, shines on a sand-colored floor. The fruit in the still life was painted in its original size, making it look particularly realistic. The oil painting has a custom-made model frame with a passe-partout. The entire wooden frame was then covered with gold leaf. The painting is dated and signed on the front. The painting is titled, dated and signed on the reverse. The painting including the frame has the following dimensions: 67 x 92 cm (height x width).
