About the artwork
In the center of the picture hovers a smaller picture in which a group of cypress trees stands in a summer landscape. This inner image is surrounded by cascades of rock, over which the water flows in stages down into a lake. Ferns and mosses have formed on the individual cascades. Occasionally small flowers with white and yellow blossoms grow on the outer rocks. The oil painting has a custom-made model frame with applications of gold leaf. The artist has titled, dated and signed the painting on the reverse.
