About the artwork

In the center of the picture hovers a smaller picture in which a group of cypress trees stands in a summer landscape. This inner picture is surrounded by cascades of rock, over which the water flows like a staircase to the lower end of the picture. The oil painting has a custom-made model frame with applications of gold leaf. The artist has titled, dated and signed the painting on the reverse.
