About the artwork
The still life with melon and quinces is a composition of a yellow honeydew melon with seven quinces and light and blue grapes. The fruit, which lies against a dark blue night sky, shines on a sand-coloured background. The fruit in the still life was painted in its original size, giving it a particularly realistic appearance. The oil painting has a custom-made model frame with a passe-partout. The entire wooden frame was then covered with gold leaf. The painting is dated and signed on the front. The painting is titled, dated and signed on the back. The painting including the frame has the following dimensions: 67 x 92 cm (height x width).
