About the artwork
In the center of the oil painting is an enormous type case. In the 21 smaller boxes there are different stones, semi-precious stones and crystals (the gifts from the earth’s interior). The large box in the center contains a few small stones and opens up a view of a volcano with three columns of smoke in the background. The eruption of this volcano represents the origin of all the stones that are contained in the type case. The painting has a custom-made model frame (dimensions: 114 x 94 x 5 cm / height x width x depth) in the Gothic style and has gold leaf applications. The painting is dated and signed on the front and titled, dated and signed on the reverse.
