About the artwork

In the center of the oil painting is a huge type case. In the 21 smaller boxes there are different stones, semi-precious stones and crystals – the gifts from the earth’s interior. The large box in the center contains a few small stones and opens up a view of a volcano with a column of smoke in the background. The eruption of this volcano represents the origin of all the stones that are contained in the type case. The painting has a custom-made model frame (dimensions: 114 x 94 x 5 cm / height x width x depth) in the Gothic style and has gold leaf applications. The painting is dated and signed on the front and titled, dated and signed on the reverse.
