About the artwork

The focus of the oil painting is an unequal, tragic love between a tree and piled stones. The tree with its branches grows in a spiral around the stacked stones. In this way the tree supports the stones and holds the wobbly structure in its shape. In a symbiotic way they give each other support – one (tree) cannot exist without the other (stone tower). However, the roots and branches will press the stones more and more, possibly even burst. At the foot of the stone tower there are already the first stones that have not found a hold in the tragic liaison. The painting has a custom-made model frame.
