About the artwork
In the center of the oil painting is a root bird, which was formed from leaf-free branches and twigs. The bird stands in a wintry landscape; in the background are trees covered with ice and snow. On the individual roots that make up the bird there is snow and fern grows here and there. The summer bird is the counterpart to the winter bird – both paintings complement each other. Depending on how the two paintings are hung, the birds look at each other or turn their backs. The oil painting has a custom-made model frame with a passepartout. The painting is signed and dated on the front and back.
